Following the strict guidelines established for certified organic processing, the fresh-cut aloe leaves are first washed and sanitized, then ground and put through two different filters to remove the harsh, non-soluble parts of the aloe leaf (including all but a trace of aloin, the ingredient that gives aloe its powerful laxative properties).
The result is an aloe liquid that contains all of aloe's important polysaccharides and other biologically active compounds - and nothing else! This liquid then undergoes a special low-heat drying process that removes the rest of the moisture, leaving nothing but aloe solids.
